Couples

Therapy

Long-term relationships naturally ebb and flow. Couples experience periods of joy, intimacy, and connection, as well as times when one or both partners may feel angry, hurt, disconnected, or misunderstood. Over time, these experiences can create patterns of interaction that leave both partners feeling stuck and contribute to difficulties within the relationship.

My work with couples focuses on understanding the patterns each of you brings from your family of origin—where you first learned how relationships work, how emotions are expressed, and how conflict is managed—and how these early experiences shape the way you relate to one another today. Together, we explore how these patterns become activated in your relationship and can lead to recurring cycles of conflict, disconnection, or misunderstanding. By developing greater awareness of these patterns, you can learn to recognize when they are occuring and respond differently, creating new possibilites for connection, understanding, and intimacy.

In addition to my work with neurotypical couples, I have a particular expertise in working with couples where one or both partners are neurodivergent, with a particular focus on individuals on the autism spectrum.
